Paramount Properties unwittingly began when Scott and Ann met as attendants in a wedding in 1997.  The two shared a love of old houses and, with the help of their knowledgeable and willing fathers, each was in the process of remodeling a WWII-era Austin home.  Two years later, they let the remodeling dust settle long enough to be married.  They moved into one of the houses and completed renovations on the other, on Paramount Avenue, as their first rental property.

In the years since, they have purchased and remodeled additional properties.  Scott handles the remodeling and maintenance of their properties, and does similar work for other homeowners and landlords.  Although Ann collaborates with Scott on design ideas, she primarily handles the office work so she can be at home with the couple’s four children. 

Ann is a native Austinite, and Scott, born in Houston, has been in Austin since 1993.  Both are graduates of Texas A&M University.  They are now living in one of their renovation projects--a larger "fixer-upper" near Zilker Park--which currently has taken a backseat to the family business.  As the saying goes, the cobbler’s children have no shoes!
